WalkVille turns your steps into a village. To do that it needs very little about you, and this page says exactly what.
Steps from Apple Health
With your permission, WalkVille reads your daily step count from Apple Health. It reads steps only. It never writes to Apple Health and never reads any other health data. You can turn access off at any time in the Health app or in Settings.
Step totals are sent to our game server so your coins are counted fairly and your village is saved. Health data is never used for advertising and never sold.
Your account and village
- Account. If you sign in, we use Clerk to manage your account. Clerk stores your sign-in details (such as your email address) so you can get back into your village on another device.
- Game data. Your village, its buildings, villagers, daily goals and streak are stored on our servers, hosted by Cloudflare.
- Leaderboards and groups. Your village name and step totals appear on leaderboards and to members of groups you join.
Villager thoughts
When you tap a villager, the game may ask an AI model to write what they are thinking. It sends details about the villager and the village (names, moods, buildings), not your health data or account details.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, no ad tracking, and no selling of your data.
- No location tracking. WalkVille counts steps, not where you walked.
Deleting your data
Write to hello@walkville.app and we’ll delete your account and village.
Children
WalkVille is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above. Questions? Email hello@walkville.app.
